When can I register for the next edition of l’Eroica? Will the rules for the world class vintage cycling event be the same as in previous years? What new ideas will the organizers introduce for the sixteenth edition? Athletes and fans have lots of questions at the start of this new year which sees l’Eroica president Furio Giannini and his colleagues busy organizing the tourist cycling event of the season in Italy. To the first question, there is already an answer; registration will open on 1 March but it’s a good idea to keep an eye on the Eroica website (
www.eroica-ciclismo.it) so as not to miss any important news, especially with regard to things such as the registration date which could change and surprise everybody.
Will the rules change? They certainly will, but not the rules regarding the bicycles allowed at the starting line which will, of course, still be only historical bikes. Then, lots and lots of enthusiasm and heroic spirit to best savour the amazing Chianti landscapes and the white gravel roads of the province of Siena, in the heart of Italy. There will be lots of new initiatives and more services. To even better support the uniqueness and the prerogatives of participants, who stand out for their technical equipment and gear but even more for the spirit which drives them to travel to Italy from every corner of the world on the first Sunday of October, a “window” is being developed on the site which will distinguish and characterize each precious participant of the Eroica... as has always been the case, since 1997.
