Hello. I'm not so good at german, but try in english and hope I could trouble you all for some advice: My 2008 Principia Evolution racing bike (aluminium) weighs 8,5kg with 105 and FSA RD-88 wheels (1800g/pair). I am thinking of a wheel upgrade as good place to start. I am not at all dissatisfied, but have nothing to compare them with performance wise, however I think it is good place to improve. I currently are not doing any racing, but plan to do a couple next year. Currently I take my bike for 2-3 weekly 35-60km runs and will typically manage 34km/h on average. I do take the occasional sprint round corners, however the roads here in Denmark are relatively flat by most standards, with only moderate hills. A new pair of nice looking Ksyrium Elite 2011 (1550g/pair) will cost me 399 EUR when bought in Germany. My question: Is the Ksyrium Elite worth it? Would there be much difference in my performance and the performance/handling of the wheels or is it just money wasted into bling?

I am grateful for any advice you can give me, thank you.

The Ksyrium is lighter, 250g doesn't sound that much, but I'm pretty sure that you will recognize the difference. 399 EUR is a good price. If I had the choice, I would choose the Ksyriums.

I'm using Mavic's Cosmic Elite (1770g/pair), it is a solid and aero wheelset; never had problems with Mavic wheels.
