You need an older version of Cruiser which is not on the authors Github. I'll share it here for a week or so Cruiser 4.0.2 Once installed (unpacked) you need to switch to vtm rendering. Then you can load your theme and a map file

I binary compared the archive with my folder. They are 100% identical and mine does start.
We are talking about a windows computer right?

If you do get it running there is one thing though. To get Cruiser in vtm mode you need to make a copy of the cruiser.bat file, name it cruiser-vtm for example and adjust the contents to this:
@echo off
cd /d %~dp0
java -Xmx1024M -jar cruiser.jar vtm

Seeing this, do you have the needed java installed?

I'm afraid I won't be able to get it to work.
Would it be easier if I sent you the vtm file and you built the railway line for me?

Without java cruiser will not work. If you can post your theme somewhere I can maybe try and have a look. No promises. I don't know what you are using now and "theming" is also not my strong point or my favorite thing to do.

Thank you @Tonno_A, just for that (kidding) I just uploaded new routing files for Germany and will continue today with Europe and the rest of the world the coming days.

It's just that since the custom routing possibility is gone from the newer devices/firmware that this thread and the telegram group have become very quiet (understandably, but still)

Don't know yet if I'm going to continue, but I'm also working on new maps without contours (elevation). As this information is useless for people that can't use the custom theme(s) anymore.
It should make the map files faster to generate and, depending on the area, a lot smaller. So maybe (and just maybe) this solves the issue of people with the Roam 3 seeing empty tiles due to memory issues..

Indeed routing tiles is another story but most actual maps with my custom theme to just see alternatives while riding komoot pre-planned tours is just great on my roam2!

Dont know if i want to upgrade to a roam3 or karoo, but for this season I will stay with the roam2.

For those willing to give it a try, I uploaded a version without contour line information of Europe to the OneDrive http://wahoomaps.higli.de/ in the folder Europe no contour lines April-2026. The maps are actually a little bit fresher than the maps with contour information.
Potential advantages could/should be smaller file sizes (depending on location naturally) so potential faster loading and zooming.
Example, Scotland (I wish!) zipped with contour information is about 201MB, without contour information 110MB. Almost a 50% difference.
But as said it depends on the location. Netherlands for example (very flat), with contour 350MB, without 343MB hardly worth mentioning.
