Er soll schneller sein als der Terra Speed, ist aerodynamisch optimiert und es gibt ihn in Gr\u00f6\u00dfen, die ihn sowohl als \u201eAllroad\u201c-Reifen wie auch als echten Gravel Race-Breitreifen ins Spiel bringen. Wir konnten beide Varianten bereits vor Marktstart testen. Au\u00dferdem gibt es einen kleinen Einblick in die Produktion des neuen Gravel Speed-Reifens in Deutschland.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>[toc include=h2]<\/p>\n<h2>Continental Terra Competition \u2013 kurz und knapp<\/h2>\n<p>Ein echter Unbekannter ist der neue Continental Terra Competition-Gravelreifen nicht mehr. Wir haben ihn als breiten Gravel-Race-Pneu bei der Gravel WM 2025 am Hinterrad von Rosa Kl\u00f6sers Bike gesehen. Und Matej Mohori\u010d fuhr auf einer schmaleren Variante des Race-Reifens an seinem Merida Mission aufs Podium. Die typische europ\u00e4ische Gravel WM 2025 mit trockenen festen B\u00f6den, einigem Asphaltanteil und hohen Geschwindigkeiten ist genau der Sweet-Spot, den der neue Comntinenal Terra Competition anvisiert. Nicht zuf\u00e4llig hat der Highend-Reifen den Beinamen des Stra\u00dfen-Schlauchreifens f\u00fcr die Profis geerbt. Er soll vor allem schnell machen und dennoch sicher genug f\u00fcr die Unberechenbarkeiten unbefestigter Wege sein. Daf\u00fcr setzt er neben einer Mischung mit dem bekannt schnellen Black Chili Compound auch auf ein neues Casing und ein Aero-Profil ohne echte Schulterstollen. Es soll sogar etwas mehr als die ber\u00fchmten Marginal Gains herauskitzeln. Profil und seine spezifischen Eigenschaften und Flexibilit\u00e4t.\n        <\/figcaption>\n    <\/figure><\/div>\n<h2>Montage<\/h2>\n<p>In der Praxis fiel die Montage bei uns kinderleicht aus: Alle vier Reifen lie\u00dfen sich per Hand auf die Felge ziehen. Das Setzen gelang jeweils mit einer normalen Standpumpe \u2013 ohne Kompressor, ohne Drama, einfach aufziehen, aufpumpen, fertig.<\/p>\n<p>Interessant: Die reale Breite f\u00e4llt eher schmaler aus. Auf einer innen 21 mm breiten Felge ma\u00dfen wir beim 35er rund 34 mm. Auf einer Zipp 303 S (25 mm innen) waren es beim 45er-Reifen rund 44 mm. Der Terra Competition ist offenbar \u2013 anders als viele Continental-Reifen der Vergangenheit \u2013 schon mit deutlich breiteren Felgen im Kopf bema\u00dft worden. Dabei macht sich der Unterschied beim 45-mm-Reifen zu anderen guten Leichtl\u00e4ufern wie dem Terra Speed oder G-One RX aus st\u00e4rker bemerkbar. Der Reifen f\u00fchlt sich im Prinzip an wie ein \u00fcberdimensionierter Stra\u00dfenreifen, wenn es \u00fcber harte B\u00f6den geht. Auch auf trockenen und etwas tieferen oder weicheren B\u00f6den funktioniert das Negativ-Profil noch gut. Auf feuchten oder gar matschigen Wegen geht aber soviel Haftung verloren, dass man unwillk\u00fcrlich deutlich vorsichtiger in die Kurven geht. Allerdings: Der Conti Terra Speed, den ich im Gravelbike Test parallel gefahren bin, liefert unter diesen Bedingungen nicht so viel mehr Kontrolle, sodass ich im Zweifel den Competition f\u00fcr den absehbar gemischten Einsatz wegen seiner \u00dcberlegenheit auf Asphalt und Hardpack vorziehen w\u00fcrde.<\/p>\n<p>Tats\u00e4chlich lief der Terra Competition in 35 mm am Rennrad so gut, dass er in Sachen Leichtlauf gef\u00fchlt auf Augenh\u00f6he mit dem ebenfalls im Testzeitraum auf dem Laufradsatz gefahrenen Schwalbe Pro One Allroad liegt. Obwohl er leichter ist, f\u00fchlt sich der Competition dabei f\u00fcr mich recht firm an und tastet den Untergrund nicht so geschmeidig ab wie der Pro One. Aber sobald es auf leichten Gravel oder gute Waldwege geht, vermittelt der Terra Competition mehr Sicherheit und liefert auch bergauf und auf leicht feuchten Deckschichten sp\u00fcrbar mehr Traktion. Unterm Strich erf\u00fcllt er damit f\u00fcr mich den Allroad-Anspruch st\u00e4rker.<\/p>\n<p>Bei hohen Geschwindigkeiten \u00fcber 35 km\/h auf der Stra\u00dfe erzeugt der Terra Competition ein helles Surren, das Slicks nicht eigen ist. Er ist nicht nur leicht, sondern gibt sich auch beim Tempomachen keine Bl\u00f6\u00dfe und kann sogar das Bisschen mehr Traktion liefern, dass den Unterschied zum Slick macht. Seine Dom\u00e4ne ist damit der Allroad-Einsatz, wo er das Zeug zu einem Grand Prix 5000-Pendant mitbringt. Allerdings d\u00fcrfte der Preis etwas abschreckend wirken f\u00fcr alle, deren Seelenheil nicht an Bestzeiten h\u00e4ngt.<\/p>            <\/div>\n            \n        \n        \n            <div
