Betreff: Offener Brief an UCI und ASO
(You'll find an english version below / Vous trouverez und version
-----
Sehr geehrter Herr McQuaid,
Sehr geehrter Herr Clerc,
Sehr geehrter Herr Prudhomme,
schaffen.
Mit freundlichen Grüßen

Dear Friends of cycling,
It looks like at the moment like everyone is content to sit back and
watch and wait to see how the fight between the UCI and the ASO
develops -- with all possible or impossible consequences for the
future of cycling.
In the interest of us all, I would like to encourage everyone to do
something, like participating in the signature action.
When we act as a group, then maybe we will have a chance to make
clear the men "in charge" that there is more at stake here then them.
A quick OK by e-mail to [email protected] is enough for us to
count you as a signature to the letter.
Thanks,
Henry Fecherolle
P.S. Please forward this e-mail to all the teams, riders, race
organizers, cycling journalists and sponsors around the world, who
you have in your address book!

Dear Mr. McQuaid,
Dear Mr. Clerc,
Dear Mr. Prudhomme,
Cycling, our sport of cycling, is facing its ruin! In the last two
years it was the doping problems, which caused an enormous amount of
damage to cycing's reputation.
We thought that the many news anti-doping programs and the
acknowledgement by everyone involved that things couldn't continue as
they are, that the worst was over. But in the last few days we have
learned that that wasn't the case. The increasingly worsening
differences between the UCI and the ASO seem to be showing us the
real problem: the struggle for power in cycling.
Everyone who signs this letter understands that there are and always
will be differences between the ASO and the UCI. Nobody expects that
all parties will always have the same opinion.
But what we see these days to our dismay, reminds us more of a dirty
war than of a civilized difference of opnions, with the goal being
the imposition of the winner's will on the other side. Through your
behavior you are threatening to destroy all of cycling. We ask
ourselves, whether you are aware of the consequences of your actions.
Teams, riders, race organizers, journalists and sponsors are aware of
the consequences. It is our opinion that it is now just a question of
time until, with your irresponsible actions, you ultimately destroy
the sport.
No one should be made to pay the price for your differences. We
challenge you to sit down together at one table and, for the sake of
cycling, to reach a quick and feasible agreement. Time is running out!
We are wiling to do all we can to help accomplish this.
Sincerely,
