It emerged today that Rapha has decided not to extend its contract with Team Sky after the four year deal comes to a close at the end of the 2016 season. Rapha circulated an open letter on behalf of founder Simon Mottram in which he said: “Rapha has been a part of Team Sky’s countless achievements since then, including two Tour de France victories and success on all types of terrain and in all conditions. Together, we have redefined performance and style in the peloton, both on and off the bike. It’s been an amazing ride so far and the success of the Partnership has been beyond expectations.

“After reflection and discussion, both Rapha and Team Sky have decided not to renew our Partnership beyond the current four-year deal, which concludes at the end of the 2016 season.

“For the next year Rapha will focus on the Research and Development projects that are already in progress with the team. With several special new products due to be released in 2016, we now look forward to an exciting final season with Team Sky and celebrating the Partnership in style.”

Mottram also said that from 2017 onwards, Rapha will still be supporting racing in many ways, which does make you wonder if there is another sponsorship on the horizon. We think MTN-Qhubeka would be a nice fit. It also begs the question who will take over as clothing sponsors for Team Sky. With POC now taking over at Cannondale, Castelli must be looking to take on a new WorldTour team.

...zu den "Sky Linien" auf dem Trikot hat man sich wohl noch Gedanken gemacht:

New Sky kit: What do those little lines mean?

According to Sky and Castelli, the lines are a data visualization, representing the team’s lengthy resume of victories. Short dashes represent one-day races, and then the lines get longer, depending on the length of the stage race win. The four long lines are Tour de France victories — three for Chris Froome and one for Bradley Wiggins, even though he isn’t on the team any longer. Blue lines are for WorldTour races.

Dimenson Data Standart, absolut nichts besonderes. Die Landesmeister sind aber echt schrottig :D
